Default distributor to coil pack question

When removing the distributor to fit a coil pack does the hole on the head need to be capped off? i.e with a gasket or a plug of some kind so no shit gets in the end? Cheers

How easy is it to remove what, the dizzy or the blanking plug?

Dizzy - 2X10mm bolts.

Blanking plug - hammer and a punch needed, tap it sideways and remove with a pair of pliers.
