Default BCR 8ES plug Gaps

Anyone know what gap for a NGK BCR 8ES plug on a standard RS turbo?

just fixed the car today, wasnt starting cos of a fubar ignition Relay and sorted the over boosting problem by piping the compressor to actuator, boosts and holds 7psi now

boosts fine if you dont floor it fast, but if you pin it it sounds like its blowin the spark out.

So, what plug gap for 7psi?

30 thou, 0.75 mm is spot on for an NGK.

there is a problem if spark is going at 7psi..

Spark doesnt actually go out, nor does it get blown out.

There is not sufficient power in the spark to jump the gap.

Think its maybe time to renew your coil and amp ?

is the dizzy ok?

T28 RST, cheers

Series1Dry, ty too

Rick, ta, but dont say that

I dunno what it could be then, you plant it hard and once boost comes in it sounds a bit like "drrrrr" then you back off an reapply the go pedal a bit softer and its fine?

Might book it into AVA in a couple of weeks if im feelin flush

Take it, it's ok to bypass the anal valve and run compressor - actuator? it was setup for 7psi and this is what its running now.

Sorry Euan missed this post

I was thinking of getting a grpA coil so this might help, coil gives off a healthy spark tho? dizzy - not sure on that one, when you take the cap off it moves in and out from the cam about 5mm...not sure if dizzy's are meant to do this? I dont thinkso

Your 100% correct Rick...

it doesnt get blown out it just doest have enough energy to jump the gap.

Would imagine it should be solid dave?

Just because there is a spark at the coil it doesnt mean its getting to the plugs properly...thats one of the main reasons you change to a coil pack set up...less gaps to jump so a healther voltage gets to the plugs.
