Just to warn everyone really. My alternator gave up the ghost beginning of last week so I got a new/recon one from a local motor factors, it was a QX Components one and all I can say is......what a pile of fucking shite!! The S2 chewed 3 in one week, yes 3!!!!! I could not beleive it, first one just wouldn't charge the battery and the light stayed on, second one stopped charging after 20 miles or so, and 3rd one the bearings whent inside it after 1 minute of idling!!!!! Luckily my local motor factors were good about it and got me a new one every time.

The one I got has lasted a week now, it's a QH one and seems good! Just to warn you all really!

Hmmmm, I'm in South Wales tho... and fitting is a piece of piss with the RST, a RS2k alternator on the other hand, now that was hard!!!!

Naah, seriously, if I had the budget it would have been a brand new lucas jobbie, but there we go!

 

Theres clearly something else at fault here aswell, 3 alternators is a joke!

I did say to you before you fitted that brand spanker i didnt think it would solve your problem. I cant remember the exact ins and outs of it now though, give me a refresher if you can be arsed!
