Default Electrical problem

Just completed a re-shell, and think i may have gone wrong somewhere??
I can start the car fine, with no problem most of the time.
But then sometimes, it wont start, just like there is no starter motor connected??
And if it does start, when i come to turn it off, 75% of the time, the starter motor stays spinning??

What have i connected up wrong

As Anthony says its proably a sticking solenoid in the starter.

Check you only have +12v down the trigger wire to the starter with the key in position 3/crank position. If thats switching ok then i would say ther starter is faulty.

Ignition swtich would be my bet.

If the starter solenoid was staying engaged it would be making a right fucking racket

The only way i could get it to stop spinning was either dis-connect the battery, or give the motor a small tap with a jack handle

Starter then

2 options really, trying smashing the largest object into the starter that u can find, it may come unstuck, or remove the starter and disconnect the main positive starter cable from the battery and bump the car.

You dont waste any cash that way, and should be able to prove the fault

If you say tapping it solves your problem it must be the starter

Probably repairable aswell if your wallet has seen better days
