Default Uprated Speakers

Right, when i got the escort, it had no speakers in it at all.

Now, ive got a set of 17cm speakers, and a set of 13cm speakers, which id like to fit in the car, however, as you know, they are too big for the standard space available in the car.

I know the easiest way to do it would be to put the 13cm ones in the front, and mount the 17cm speakers on the parcel shelf, but i rekon that would look gash.

So, anyone got any pics of aftermarket speakers in their car?
Or any hints/tips/guides as to how and or where to mount them?

Cheers.

DIY.

I just made an MDF ring up and fibre glassed it to the back and mounted the speaker to it. Be damned if I'm paying a £100 of for some posh pods

I don't do pretty for the sake of pretty

My escort only has the speakers in the front and a CD player and that's the lot now.

The previous owner of my car had the same made up...MDF covered with acoustic cloth, works well

For the rear I've an acoustic shelf.....basicaly MDF covered with cloth & 2 holes cut in the mdf(not the cloth) so the rear shelf just looks grey, but houses speakers. Im sure when i bought it it was around £50 that was 4/5 years back though.

Thats how i had thought of doing it Stu. The main thing thats stopping me though, is how it will sound? i imagine it to be very rattley (sp?)

Deffo seems the easiest way though

If you want the sound quality then get a set of the pods i said if your not to concerned about sound quality then fit them as above they still sound "OK" in the foot wells but they do sound 100 times better if you have the proper (sealed) door pods
