Default is it possible to

weld a new battery tray & underneath panel on a series 1 without removing the inner wing?

as ive found more rust while i stripped it but the inner wing has just been fitted, so has the outer wing

You dont need to touch the wings to fit a battery tray

here you see the side of the panel folded up when put in place



but ive came up with a little plan to just weld it to the inner wing & then smooth with filler all round the engine bay to look all smooth like puss's engine bay

but yes i will remove the dash

Well, if you cut the old one out, cut that piece off if it doesnt need replaced so your not joining it close to the inner wing..?

That part that your on about is ment to be welded to the wing then covered with sealant thats how it's done from the factory.
