Default Cambelt snapping on CVH

just wondering,

if the cambelt did snap on a CVH, does the valves hit the pistons on a standard CVH turbo??

its not happend to mine, was just wondering, as i know some engines are built to miss where other distroy themself when they hit.

Yeah will wreck a CVH, some newer modern engines have the system where it doesn't wreck anything.

Saw marks on the pistons in my old engine, when it was removed for my new one

This had happened when KeithB had it a few years previous at 6000 revs - damaged valves and guides
.. i thought the pulley was supposed to have a nice recess like that when i first saw it

snapped cambelts are a right fucker.

There isnt really any excuse for a snapped belt on a CVH when a belt is a tenner

lol no worries wasn't mine when that happened
but know what you mean, think on the old engine had about 3 cambelts in a year, due to various replacements such as water pump etc
