Not this again, cunts!

Would be nice to see a reply from Stuart, can't see it making 400+ without NOS! Would be some acheivement if it does!

The amount of time and effort that jamie and stuart have put in it

Matt, not taking anything anyway from Stuart and Jamie, but it takes ALOT more than time and effort to hit 400bhp from a 1600CVH.

I know that better than most. Remember that's a clear 50bhp more than mine and believe me we tried.

Sorry, I'm not a mate of Christian's, and never meet him,
So i'm not butting in because of who he is, Just that you were wrong.

There are NO signs of Det on his engine, and if you knew what you was talking about, you would of too.

And it seems from how i read it, all you was trying to do is cause trouble.
If i'm wronge, sorry, but thats how it seemed.

In addition to what I just said above, I know that Stuart and Jamie have put time, effort and alot more into his car. I didn't want that to be taken as though time and effort is ALL they have put into it!!

No worries.

Its the next step though, it was not long ago that people would laugh
at you for saying you were trying to squeeze 300bhp out of a 1600cvh

Yes, my engine failed at the PF Thrash. It was head-gasket failure or something like that.

Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake!

I always thought say a 100 shot of nos gave you slightly less than 100?

ie 50 shot = approx 40ish hp, 100 shot = 80ish hp, and so on...

Can anyone confim the actual gains you get when using nos? Does it give the power it says on the tin? Or more? Less?

Cheers

Paul

on n/a cars you will get slightly less but on turbo cars on a 50 shot you'll be looking at 60hp more and 80fbt.... 100 shot you could be looking at anything from 120 -150hp gain.
this is all achieveable with a wizard of nos kit not with one of the american brands.

Paul aka (Turbotrev)

There are so many benefits running nitrous on turbo charged cars especially for people who are into drag racing.
You might want to Consider nitrous not just because of the extra power nitrous can Generate nitrous is so Beneficial for turbo charged cars. Turbo cars are far safer on nos due to the cooling effect which prevent detonation
Nitrous its unbelieveable stuff, you could possibly drop a second on your ¼ mile times. On gas i have no lag what’s so ever. Apart from more power, how would you like FULL BOOST at any RPM? Maximum power from the second you push the pedal? Because it totally removes all turbo lag - completely! Full power/boost from idle RPMs upwards! Stand on the gas and GO!
The nitrous initially provides the go, but this makes a lot of exhaust gas that spins the turbo up fast! Sudden boost too! Because if used as a "turbo lag remover" the nitrous is turned off as soon as boost is achieved via a manifold pressure switch, so the bottle lasts AGES! that’s if you wanted the nos for this Purpose (i didn’t) PEAK power can be drastically improved - if used normally (on all the time @ full throttle) rather than just to eliminate the turbo lag. charge cooling effect gives a measure of safety and prevents detonation, meaning higher turbo boost pressures can be used. and it also means a much bigger turbo can be used! with large turbos so much time is lost through lag after a gear change the turbo might take a second to spin up, this wont happen with nos. personally I think trying to run 2.4 bar and nitrous will cause him problems especially on a 8v head the engine will produce so much exhaust gases will be head be able to get rid of the cylinder gases before the next charge comes in maybe Stuart should do the testing before adding anything to his sig? would be good if he can achieve this because the car does look the part. just needs the times to back up his claims

hi m8

its a zvh form a silver top zetec if you are starting from scratch then go full zetec. it will work out cheaper then a properly built zvh only.
reason i went dowm the zvh route was because i spend so much moey on my cvh head. either black or silver top will do does'nt really matter which one, purchase your rods and pistons from the states steel rods and a set of pistons can be brought for under £500. even cosworth steel rods retail for £288

thanks

sean

nah m8 i just brought the pistons off the shelf maybe not the cleverest thing to do with my cvh head at first i had a c/r 8:4:1 so i had no choice but to use a 1.2mm de-comp plate giving me 7:8:1. the americans dont like low comp engines.
machining the chambers would cost you £180 i dont know off hand how much cc you would gain or just buy pistons with the correct c/r 9:0:1 alot of the ameicans call that low comp lol
