im think of getting some new wheels will et 40 with a 215/40/17 will this size be ok?

 

215 will probably be a little wide, 205/40 is a very common size.

Offset should be ok, at worst you may find the wheels rubbing the inner arches.

 

Would'nt be a certain set on Ebay, would it??????

i have 215's on mine, but had to cut out the front arch lips with a grinder, they dont catch now but only just catch on full lock. also my car is dropped 60mm on the front

the rear catch also but i aint cut outthe lip yet..
