Default With is the best cam?

As the topic shoes mates. Wich is the best cam for the RST S2?
I want more increase in horse power but I would like the power to be at the begining of the rpm and up the 6000.

ive got a piper cam at the mo but im thinkin bout getin a Newmans cam as ive heard theyre the best.

iv got a kent cvh 35 in my s2 and its perfect....

And did you all get out the power you wanted?
I dont want a cam thats go from 4000-7500 if you know what I mean.

How much do they cost?

Very pleased with my Kent CVH35. I have heard a lot of people complain about the quality of the blanks though. Newman are supposed to be excellent although I've not used one yet (planning on dropping one into my FRST)

Go for Newmans CVH cam and their Solid Followers. They are more difficult to fit and require a bit of ongoing maintenance, but we wouldn't touch anything else now.

yeh im hearing good things about these newman cams, & what do you mean they need ongoing maintenance? thought cams were fit & forget.

Whats wrong with the piper? Heard many bad things about them. Somebody most know wats wrong.

Is it correct that Newmans and vernier are very very expensive?

the soild lifters need adjusting from time to time not a major problem

get a kent cvh35 and vernier mate worked a treat on my s2 made an amazing diffrence

rev to 2-2.5k rpm for 20 mins,nothing else to it

Right than lads have would like to know the answer to this as i am re-building my car and engine i have a piper 285t2 cam and a kent 35 cam so before i put one in i would like to know which one is best

had kent 35 in mine my old one and it was ok but i would like it to be right this time

the kent is better for torque and the piper is better for hight revs an moe bhp

not used piper, but had 2 bad kent cams, and 1 good kent cam.


going for newmans next.

Kent cvh35 never had any problems with Kent cams
