some kiddie tried to blag that his escort cab had a cossie in it, just because i was young and driving a mondeo. he then tore away with only front wheels spinning!!!! wasnt any faster than the good ol' mondy though.tit.
I also had a mechanic tell me my rs turbo was an xr3i with a turbo put on it.
i told him it had sierra v6 brakes but he was like no they would be drilled and grooved on an rst!!!!!!hmmmn and he couldn't even fix the problem with my brakes. he had an r34 skyline he got for 4k though so he knows everything and his c200 kompressor did 155 mph too

Where do I start with my experiences with Ford main dealers
The best one was when I took the 2k in for a clucth. I got a quote over the phone of Ł350 (I thought that was steep but it had to be done!) by giving them my original plate, my private plate and the chasis number.
I dropped the car off for it to be done and was on my way home in the curtesy car when the phone rang...
"Mr Wright, you didn't tell us your car was an RS, that's gunna be Ł150 more" I said WTF you on about, and they asked me to go back.
When I got there I started playing hell because they said I only gave them the private plate and they didnt have it down as being an RS
The convo went like this:
Lee: "I've signed the jobsheet and it's a legally binding contract between me and you"
Service manager: "The details on the job sheet are not correct so it's null and void" and he went to tear it up.
Lee: "wooooow there, let me see that!"
I had a read thru and it had my private plate on top, but in comments box it had all the other details vin number etc, and thats when it hit me, in engine capacity it said 2000cc. it continued...
Lee: "all the details on here are correct so it's not void"
Service manager: "No they are wrong, read it again, it doesn't say RS"
Lee: "You read it again, it says engine capacity, 2000cc"
Service manager: "Yes but the quote is for a normal 2 litre escort not an RS"
Lee: "You tell me what 2l Escort isnt an RS"
* room goes quiet untill *
Random woman: "didn't they make a 2.0 4x4 normal escort once"
Lee: "What the RS2000 4x4?"
Random woman: "Oh."
Service manager: "There was a normal 2.0 escort wasn't there" looking at his mate
Lee: "I'll give you a clue, there isn't a 2.0 escort that's not an RS. The two 2 litre escorts are the RS Cosworth's and the RS2000's"
* Long pause *
Service manager: "He's right, we'll have to do it for Ł350 then"
I was laughing my arse off at them. A team of 3 service clerks and a service manager didnt know that.
It then took them 5 days to do it
