Default Intercooler fans

I bought a radtec intercooler a little while ago and went to fit it today to see what kinda size fan i would need. People say it should be around 2" but there is not a 2" gap between the rad and intercooler when its in position. Does the fan have to be mounted to the intercooler? Ive seen them between the 2 before and think it looks alot better. Some pics would be good if anyone has them.

Did you make some brackets to mount the pad on then? Isnt it quite close to the turbo when you move it?

So when you have a front mount intercooler then, you take the rad fan off, and have 2 fans in front of the intercooler(Generally speaking)?

Yeah standard fan has to be removed due to its depth. As for 2 fans some people fit 2 x 10" im gonna fit 1 12" as thats kinda the same size as whats on there. Some people fit it between the rad and intercooler and some fit to front of intercooler. I was just after peoples comments so i dont want to start cutting the bumper and all sorts to make it fit.

Pics would still be good guys to get an idea of what looks best

hi mate i fitted one about a month ago you do need two move the rad back as far as you can but dont let it hit the turbo. the further back you put it the less you will have to take out of the bumber i have too kenlowe fans in the the middle of the intercooler and rad. i have some pics i will try to find them and post tem up for you.

if you use the car every day and in traffic then go for 2 fans.
it will save you taking it all apart again in the summer

Will only be using it at night and weekends as i have a work van. Dont really do mega miles either so shouldnt come across much traffic. Might go for 2 10s to be on the safe side though.

just use a socket or spanner and it screws out! make sure you get a new seal though cos they dont come with the fan switch
