Default boost

i'm sure some one will correct me if i'm wrong but i would say your -31 accuator could have a weakened spring in it as ihave a erst that is pretty standard it still has standard accuator and it is running 9psi(not chiped either.)

wind it back in then and it will increase the boost
then take it to get set up with the extra boost youve added or it will end in tears

NO, look when i wind the rod inwards this raises the boost, ive tried this from about half way going up in half turns untill i get to 6psi and cant turn it any further

first i thought it mite be on the limiter but it isnt, as i can bring it down to 5psi - 4psi etc, i just cant raise the boost over 6psi

ive heard pinking before and this is different, i checked the emissions at work before christmas and the co content was about 1.3ppm which is slightly weak. i would go to a tuner but im sqint after buying a new gearbox (expensive lesson about powersliding)

im going to remove the turbo and investigate, is there anything i should look out for apart from the obvious

thanks guys for your help - much appreciated

the sound is like the one you get from a butterfly on a carb that has a fuked spring and just moves loosely, its more like a rattle

did u unhok the eylet off the wastegate arm before u shortened the actuator rod?
if not the u will have torn the diaphram in the actuator hence no boost.
the rattling if its not pinking coule be the wastegate penny that isloose inside the turbo which will also cause the problem
