Fuel Cap
The fuel cap on the Series 2 is a bit tight getting on and off i have sprayed WD40 where the key goes and a load of rust has come out
Can these fuel caps be stripepd down or is it better just to get a new one?? If i get a new one can i use the same lock so i dont have loads of keys on the key ring??

the mechanism comes out from the front of the fuel cap (away from the car if it were in position)
i cant remember if you can push it out from the back or not, has been a while since i rebuilt mine.
the easy option is to cut the fuel cap off the locking mechanism with a dremel or something! proper butcher style

Be careful while its stiff, the MK4 keys are very prone to twist inside the plastic handle, then you end up with your keys stuck in the petrol cap
