can any tell me whats needed to escort cossy rims on my s1

asked this a couple of weeks ago mate..

what i was told is longer wheel studs maby a spacer (5 - 10mm)

& ive also baught some 215 - 40 - 16 toyo proxes

not sure about suspension but i have heard on running just normal
suspension but im running avo coilovers myself

i no that i need 205 40 16s but would like to no if any1 is running diff tyre sizes,i no i need the washers off some xr2i mk 5 escort type wheel nuts, but any more info would be great ????????

like i say mate im going to use 215 - 40 - 16 tyres

but you'll see allot of people on here have converted to studs aswel

ha dthem on my s2 rep for a long long time with standard xr3i wheel bolts and on 215 40 16 tires needed to trim the L shame lip in to an / shaped lip lol but then settled fine and dandy with no rubbing even with 4 up

Grayston 'Ghia' Wheel bolts with 60deg washers.

I personally preferred the Mondeo Si rims - different width and offset which fit better in the arches.

i had a set on my series one turbo cabby,i used 205/40/16 tyres,i found the 215,s catch slightly on full lock,dont use standard wheel bolts they are no good,ive seen somebody put some sierra or fiesta wheel nut washers on,but then your standard wheel bolts only screw in a couple of threads,thats dangerous and could easily rip out at speed cornering.
i managed to get hold of some ford bolts with the right size colars on but unsure wot car they were from, i was using koni adjustables,i found the standard suspension was no good and not stiff enough to prevent the arches catching.

heres a couple of pics of the bolt you need,the one on the left is a standard (rs turbo/xr3i) alloy wheel bolt,and the one on the right shows the sort you need with the bigger colar!
the second pic i took just for the hell of it to show you wot it looks like without the colar as they come off,however they dont come off on the standard bolts.
some people put the bigger colar on standard bolts say from a sierra or fiesta,but thats dangerous because by the time they have gone through the wheel and disc theres only a couple of threads holding the wheel on!!
shown in the 3rd pic ive put the washer over the standard bolt,now compare it too the pic above.

trouble is i dont know wot car they are from(on the right) does anybody else have any idea?????

Falken tyres are good for these rims mate, there sidewalls on the tyre itself seem to 'angle' back in abit more over other tyres, we used these on my mates Fiesta and it was a good improvement!

You'll need all the space you can get with the offset and width of an Escos rim!

hi again,im currently trying to find out for you if the ones in the link would do the job,im waiting for a replie from somebody that might be able to give me the answer,although they are slightly different to the ones i had before they may well do the job, 60 degree seat? need to find out wot size the seat is on a standard turbo alloy bolt to know if these are any good for the esc coz rim

What you need is a set of 60deg Wheel Bolts with removable collar from Grayston, a UK bolt manufacturer.

They call them 'Ghia' wheel bolts.

The bolt is listed in WHEELBOLTS down at the bottom in it's own Ford bit.

Alternative is to give Rally Design a call. I'm guessing they're going to be slightly more expensive than Grayston though.
