Default hp cvh oil pump mod ?

i remember a few years back ht racing showed in a mag how to make a standard cvh oil pump into a high pressure one anyone know how to do it ?

i know you can buy a uprated pressure spring for around a tenner to up the pressure

you can machine the bolt that press the spring by 2.5mm and it will rais your pressure

just add a small spacer to the oil pressure releif valve. Only do it if u have an aftermarket oil cooler that drops the pressure.

dont you want a high flow pump as all a high pressure one does is flow the oil quicker so it doesnt cool as well. a high flow one cools a bigger amount of oil. or am i talking bollocks

Was about to say I thought it was high flow not high pressure you needed in a CVH application?

what sort of oil pressure should you see at idle when warm?

reason i ask is i have a high pressure oil pump and i wondered if my oil pressure is too high...?

i have a huge oil coller from a rotary turbo
i simply took about 10mm off an old spring and upped my pressure by about a bar by adding it in , works alright
have to be careful here , too much pressure will lead to the seals on the turbo popping

Shouldn't really be too much of an issue

better higher than lower!

Mine sits at about 1bar when up to temperature at idle.

Too high an oil pressure will pop seals and cause all sorts of grief.

the std pump can flow masses of oil, ford aren't stupid....

so say your pressure was slightly down for what ever reason, ( the pump is fine so im wondering if its the shite gauge)

could this mehtod be yused to return it back to what it should be?

Low oil pressure can also be early signs of a worn bottom end.........
