Default oil cooler???

how easy is it to fit a oil cooler, do you have to buy a sandwich plate or can you just use the original one that the oil filter bolts to and just use the pipes from that ?

Default cooler

if i remove the old cooler, what do i do with the pipes that come out of it, or are they not needed? i think they go into the engine.

The 2 pipes that come off the top of the standard cooler are part of the cooling system which can be bypassed if your not using it anymore.

my car seems to run really hot under the bonnet, but the water temperature is fine. i mean if its running for a about 10 - 15 mins constant driving you could fry a egg on the bonnet and the warmer it gets you start to get a rattle. so i thought the oil might be getting to hot. ohh yeah ive just given it a oil change aswell so its new oil too

Have you checked the timing. If its too far retarded it will run hot?

How did you flush out the cooling system?

Yes it would. Mine ran fine but hot and found the timing to be out 2 degrees. Put the timing how it should be and no more heat problems.
