why not the car were doing is a track car as weve done many powerful zvh and zetec turbo's before we are just messing about with a series 2 to see what we can do its also a kind of promotional thing as it just shows what can be done and shows off our engineering skills. oh yeah and it helps free up space for the rs500 intercooler.

If you can get the cold air flow to it then i can't see it being a problem being in the boot

If it's a track only car, then definately YES. Frees up a lot of space in the engine compartment, helps cooling and makes servicing so much easier.

and if its a road car?

it can be done and i reckon it gonna be THAT difficult...just the routing of the water pipes that might be a bit tricky...also would there be any troubles with water flow? will the standard water pump be alright to flow all round the system?

I planning on moving the radiator to the boot of my s2 track car over the winter. Its only midly tuned but just can't keep it cool on the track,it has a pace alloy rad but after 15 to 20 mins of abuse its up in the red.I thought at least if its in the boot its away from the turbo and you can get the biggest rad you can in there.

as you can see we also decided to sink the fuel tank in to the floor
the whole of the boot floor was cut out and remade. we wernt quite expecting this much fabrication work to be needed but well as you all know once youve started you cant turn back

yeah we have removed the one from the engine and have an electric one to go in it pumps 100 litres a minute we are in the process of making the cover for the rad which will hold the fan and the scoops to go in the rear quarters.

If any one else has any crazy mods they rekon would look cool post em up as were up for having a laugh choping the car about and playing with the welder

I attempted this in one of my old Rs turbos. You defo will need an electric water pump and big scoops to feed cool air. (Or run a scoop from underneath)

Plus in theory you'll end up making the car weigh more as of the extra water.

Also you'll need to have a vent to allow the hot air from the rad to escape the car.

I only tried it as I used a huge turbo and it was easier to move the rad so the turbo would fit! Lol!

It does look cool, but you don't need to do the mod. You can make plenty of room just by moving the rad and cooler forward.
