Default Running Problem

Hi not long just put a escort rs turbo engine into a mk5 escort xr3i picked the car up a few day's ago from getting wired up and on the way home put the foot down a litte but car would hold back and wouldnt go over 70+mph

Could it be running rich with it still running the xr3i fuel pump? car runs sound and boost's ok till you get upto about the 70+ mph mark then get the boost problems and not wanting to go over 70mph

what boost r u running?

sounds like it could be boost related or a sensor that is retarding the ignition!

Would love to go EFI but cant at the moment have spend so much on the car the last few months

HORNETS7: Err boost Not sure what boost the cars running, Havent had the time to get a boost gauge yet but will be next on list

The car run's spot on under 70/80mph so cant see it been a boost problem but could be wrong?

I wouldn't run it on the 3i pump for much longer tbh mate, won't give you the right fuel pressure.
