OK, out earlier in the car and coming to a round about my indicator was on and then just sudderenly stopped. I took the roundabout and pulled over, tried left and right not working, put hazards on and the hazard light just stayed on but didnt flick on and off. put lights on, ok they still work fine. have replaced fuse and still doing it on and off, sometimes fine and odd occasion it will do it, never seen this before, has anyone else? what else could it be?

Any advise welcome!

have you tryed the flasher relay??
think its on the indicator switch under the black trim on your steering column

 

aye mate as dickie said check the relay

 

What is the likely cause for it's failure Is it likely this is the problem? And would the symptoms be it working and not working?

 

this happened on my sapphire ..but clicking hazzard light switch on top of the
Steering Column cured it ..
took off steering wheel there is a black plastic ring on the Column shaft
behind the wheel its got a little cam like key sticking out
this had snapped off..
best news only 75 pence from ford dealership

Adam, had EXACTLY the same prob on my S1 when i was checkin lights for MOT.......it was a red or Black large fuse/relay in the fuse box, i'd knocked it out slightly, but if ures is fecked cld do the same thing! i checked everyhing under the dash b4 i noticed it wasnt in proper, took me ages

Sorted CheeRS lads. But 10/10 and a gold star go to Dickie I had a spare indicator stalk and swapped over the relays, all fine now (He says) na, seems to be working all the time now, and sounds different? Sounds lot better
