Default wiring loom

ive got a 90spec xr3i efi to take the bits off to do an efi conversion on my s2. ive started taking the loom out from the passenger side from the edis module right round the front including the headlight wiring.

now as ive got to the fuse box im stuck. how do i get all the wiring out? do i take the hole fuse box out and unplug the wiring that goes up the back of the dash? ive had a look onder it and it looks like the whole loom under the dash comes with it

also ive seen pics of frst looms and all the headlight and indicator wiring doesnt look like its on it. am i takin the wrong parts?

had a look on rsbible and hes got a pic of a frst loom and theres none of that wiring and no fuse box in loom. does it come apart before the fusebox.

thanks for any help

murdoch1.7zs

the fun you're going to have..........

As Ian says, you gota gut the inside of the car, unplug everything, and it will all lift out of the hole the fuse box lives over

SAFECHAV u havent seen this alarm

the guy that fixed my windows when i got it was a clifford fitter a few years ago and he had a nightmare of a time trying to find the full closure box.

the thing with it is it looks like bits have been added on over the years into it so theres control boxes of the alarm all across the dash.

i went to see him to ask if he could take it out and put it back in and he said no chance

do you have to change the entire loom to go efi, or can you not just unplug the ecu's and swap the efi ecu in and all the other engine side of the loom just run off that?

Default wires

So can you use part of the fezzy loom on an escort to run efi. ive been told it envolves cutting the erst loom down and wireing the fezzy one into the engine side.

You can, but you are correct you will have to do a small amount of wiring work to connect the fiesta loom to the main loom.

It's not THAT hard, theres about 7 or 8 wires IIRC. BUT, you've also got to wire in the fuel pump relay within the car, aswell as the injection module relay.

You can make anything look proper with a bit of time and care, have a look at this and see if you can figure out what loom it is

looks like my loom, I spliced into the ERST loom, zip tied up all the original bits and bobs in the engine bay and hid them as well.

The relays aren't that hard to do in side the car either
