Default Who got or done a CVH/Duratec conversion?

Hi guys, I have started a conversion using my RS turbo CVH and a brand new 2.0l RS Duratec short motor. I am interested in any info anyone might have. I am looking to get it up and running for Trax.

Well I have got the block at work now so I can pick away at the build.
I have cut a large hole in the side of it for the water pump, got some WRC Cosworth rods from Jamsport, just calculating the compression ratio! Looks like I will have to take several mm of the head as the Focus RS pistons have a large dish in them. Just thinking where to put the oil drain and breather and what to do with the extra holes already in the block?
It looks to have quite trick pistons, the standard rods were a bit thin and the crank looks strong.

I thought the duratec was chain driven, how will that work with a cvh head?

I thought that to but the early ones were belt driven. This one has a ticket on to say that it was built in 2004! Aparently there are only 7 Focus RS short motors left from Ford. The build is a bit of suck it and see.

why would you want to take off a good flowing 16v head that costs fook all from a breakers.. To replace it with a restrictive 8v head that will need £$£$£ spending on it to flow power?

Maybe i have missed summin?

I never said I ever had the head!
I am building it for the challange.
If I wanted easyer power I would have bought a cossie.

Ok

My point is value for money.. You can do what you like pal. Good Luck

But if your gonna spend X amount of money and get 250bhp or

spend less £ & time to get more power for your money what would you rather have...

Regards
Jano

Mr Oddkid I understand your point of view, and for a time I was of that same opinion (optimise the standard kit with a proper set up) but over the years I have also relised that it will only take so far.

I work for a company that always strives to be the best, so some of that work ethos gets transfered to my car.

I am a race and test mechanic for the McLaren F1 team.

Your coment of 250bhp is somewhat shy of my predictions.
