Default RST CVH gearbox bolts Q's help

Which way do they go in?

from block - gearbox
or
gearbox - block?

how many are their?

The plate that covers the bottom of the clutch, can this be put on when engine and box are mated and starter is on?

Also, the battery earth, that comes from starter? thick wire, got the plastic sleeve on it and the eyelet thing that a bolt goes through to hold it to the block or something, which bolt hole does it go through? and will it be ok to bolt to the gearox using one of the gearbox bolts?

thanks in advance

I think the S1 only had the ground strap from battery to the back of the block. Not 100% sure, but that's how I've seen it in my two cars.

there are 6 bolts altogether holding gearbox to engine.

the 2 bolts on the top (under dizzy) go gearbox to engine

the 4 other bolts go engine to gearbox.

the plate can indeed be put on when starter engine and gearbox are all mated together.

the starter motor is held on by 3 bolts, the battery earth strap thing bolts onto the top bolt of the starter motor bolts.

my specialist tool was a Junior Hacksaw

took me 20 mins of solid sawing to cut the head off it

the bolts are all 13mm except the middle bolt that holds the plate on which is 15mm

Admittedly i haven't removed one for a while because i don't run that cover, but im sure the bolts are 17mm heads, because all the bolts are M10 thread, just the main bell housing bolts have reduced size heads on them
