Default oil pump change

I'm buying another bottom end from someone on another forum but i would possibly like to change the oil pump as a precaution. How difficult is it to do this with just the block on its own(with everything in/on ie sump etc)>

Easy to change the pump when the engines out.

take the sump off. You'll need a nea gasket.

The pump is help on by 6 bolts. You'll need a new gasket for this, and a new oil seal for the pump. When fitting it - make sure it is centralised on the crank. It may not be lined up perfectly on the block, but a small smear of sealant will prevent it from leaking before the sump gasket is fitted.
