Default are the crankshafts of a xr3i an rs turbo the same?

mine is makin a noise when i accelerate slow or hard espically in 1st an 2cd gear an doesnt sound healthy, any one no if the xr3i an rs turbo crankshaft the same plz?

nope

the rs crank is different but an xr3 crank works just the same , would not cause the problem you have got

see previous post from the last couple of weeks

RS turbo cranks are the same!!

I have used one myself!!

yer this was posted a while ago, microcat says the S1 cranks are the same as the xrsi, but the later S2 had a slightly different crank with radus corners for strength, but they all fit and work fine

Indeed, however, did you see the pictures in posted?

I removed a crank from an 89 EFI CVH, and it also had radiused corners.

Here are the pictures, compare for yourself, i guarantee you will find this is the same as any other 1.6 crank produced on or after 1986

thats different to my crank in my turbo lump, mines dont have the radius corners, mine must be an older engine then

As i say that came out of an XR3i!!!

What cast number has yours got? As you can see that one is an 86 cast
