Default are these any good?

My botlid has been de locked and was thinking of wireing a solenoid in to open it ( previous owner used the drop back seats method of using the boot )
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Would this do the job and does anybody have any experience of these kits?

thanks

edited cos forgot to put the link in

I took a boot release solenoid n switch out of a mk3 fiesta, fitted straight in, just needed a bit of wire coat hanger to connect it to the latch!! simple

lol well its got 2 wires 1 has a eyelet for the earth then the other needs to be joined and run to the switch then it goes thru a fuse supply (handy speaker wire in a estate version runs right from front to rear)

otherwise all you need to do is mount it suitably and connect it with a rod of some kind

in my estate i just bent the original (from the lock) thru the popper and pop riveted it onto the inner skin

can also put a 2nd switch in to be a secret way in if you lose keys or summet

i wals always losin estate keys so i had a snd button no steerin lock and the lower cowel only on by 1 screw so it was easy for me to get home ans use it till they turned up again
