Default TURBO PROBLEMS NEED ADVISE

well ill try explain the best i can ok i have a s2 erst and as far as im aware the turbo is standard which are t3's if thats correct but again as i aware i believe the impellor blades have been cut back, im also running a bajoo chip with other things too.

My Turbo starts to spin up about 3k with no boost, then the boost comes on just a smidgen over 4k, ?

on lifting off the throttle, a very small amount it cuts the boost instantly car feels like its hit a brick wall ?

Now the map sesor is connected to the actuator and turbo housing and to the air box, but not to dump valve, which is connected to the injection plenum is that the correct way??

the boost gauge goes from 0-20psi instantly when boost comes in?

last week myself and a freind ajusted the actuator 3 turns which brought the boost range down a tiny amount but lost boost in top end down to 16psi?

hope some1 can point me in the right direction on what is goin on as its starting to bug me, in my mind i thought boost comes in gradually not in one bang which mine does, ive got hold of a t3 stage2 turbo that needs rebuilding would this cue the problem? also would the car need setting up again for the new turbo??

thanks guys thanks alot

map sensor conected to the actuater? thats wrong, map sensor (mainifold air pressure) sensor should go on one of the takeoffs on the inlet

did you mean amal valve?

sholdnt really mess around with actuater without having the fueling done to match.
its worth getting it set up by a pro

if its bolted to the gearbox then yep thats the amal valve

if you trace the pipe frm the inlet that should lead to the map sensor

The MAP sensor on an MFi RST is inside the ECU. There will be a vacuum pipe to it.

What you are referring to is the Amal Valve.

It sounds to me really like a fault with the turbo. I think the reading you see on the gauge where it jumps from nothing to 20psi is a fault with the gauge, like a sticky needle. The car does feel laggy though, so I am still with the idea of it being a faulty turbo.

Yes, the fuelling will need checking again once the turbo issue is resolved and should also have the actuator properly set-up, as said above as potentially, by increasing actuator pre-load, you may end up running too much boost and melting the engine. Especially if you are relying on a boost gauge that really looks as though it is faulty.
