Wot BHP is your RS supposed to be? Also you don't know wot mods the 106 may have had!

It doesn't take nuch to knock an RSTs power right down - 5mm the wrong way on the dizzy will drematically alter performance - best to get it checked on the rollers if you can though.

Definetly do this b4 too much!

Also worth trying a different actuator cos if its weak it not only effects wot it holds on boost but really effect acceleration because the wastegate is opening extra early and you are simply dumping pressurised air down the exhaust and not through the engine!

Mine, at the moment running at 7psi with a fooked actuator is running 140.1bhp at the flywheel, should be close to 200bhp at the fly with a decent actuator holding 14psi.

Spec of mine is basically standard:
Standard 1800 Zetec bottom end
Standard 1600 CVH head
Standard cam
Standard Series 2 water cooled turbo
Scorpion 3" System with 4" backbox
K&N panel filter
Champion Cossie race plugs
Shagged -31 actuator
Chip of unknown make
Bleed valve

GRS is a make of a intercooler, It is Graham off here, he makes them himself its his own business and he is s**t hot!!! Hisd large intercoolers are very good and very succesfull. I would recommend them.

Go here: http://www.grsmotorsport.co.uk/ Or give Graham a call on 01935 479014. He is a very friendly helpfull chap and will answer all ur questions

P.S Steve done his himself, clever lad

Thanks adam, ill only take that complement once my casr hit the 200 mark
GRS coolers are very good but they cover the whole rad so if in traffic your car can over heat, i no of one zvh lump wiv a grs that did.
If you get twin fans im sure you wont have a problem

As steve said, there are a few good and bad factors to it, but they can all be sorted, as steve said twin fans, and also on a switch for being stuck in traffic moments etc.

Best give Graham a call

Need an alloy rad. My pace jobbie is bloody excellent for keeping it cool. Never gets any where near half temp - even in hot day traffic

Nothing wrong with CVHs - just everyone seems to want ZVH.

oh youve filled me with confidence there cant wait for my new engine to melt lmao, sounds good stevo so what sort of power is everyone pulling.
Mines still CVH.. pulling as per sig (187bhp / 183lb/ft torque @ 12.5psi)
FYI spec is..

BLOCK: 1740cc Forged accralite pistons, fully lighten and balanced con-rods, crank, and flywheel by Burtons.
HEAD: stage 3 c/w double valve springs and piper 285t2, grey vernier, Felpro head gasket ( ).
TRANSMISSION: S1 gearbox, AP 4 paddle clutch, uprated thrust bearing, mark 6 escort clutch pedal.
BOOST: Turbonetics roller bearing T3 turbocharger, c/w 60deg trim, .48 exhaust housing, -32 actuator, Pace double size intercooler, full samcos (red) and ancillary silicones, Collins double piston dump valve.
WATER: Pace alloy radiator, full samcos (red) and ancillary silicones, Baileys large capacity header tank.
ECU: (Fooked at mo. hence low BHP figs ) Collins unlimited boost chip
OTHERS: Baileys oil seperator/breather kit, Magnecor 8.5mm HT leads, Cosworth spec spark plugs.

Bout it, I think

thats some spec mate how good is that large s1 intercooler bargain price too shall have to ring em. pace units that size are going for 600 odd for the s2. yeah shall have to rig a switch up like. my car sits at 3 quarters up the gauge in traffic with the fan on so god knows what it will be like when tuned
