Hi there, im going to go to motorsport dvelopments soon and have my car remapped(saving hard Stu) but it had a bleed valve on it so I had heard that boost controllers where better!!! I took the bleed valve off and popped on the boost controller, problem is when its wound right down the boost goes mental basically off the clock( dodgy!!!) so I cant really boot the car at all as I know I will blow it up!!!! I know what you are thinking, put the bleed valve back on. Well I did and it does exactly the same over boosts big time.... Please can someone help? The crappy person I bought the boost controller off said" it goes from the turbo to the wastegate actuator" fine but where my bleed valve was I just replaced it and I think it goes into the amal valve, am I right? Do I need to turn the boost controller around? Why has it gone mad with the bleed valve? Which way round does the bleed valve go does it have a flow? How can I take em both off and put it back to std for the time being? Please any help is greatly appreciated as I dont want to blow my car up... Thank you.....

u ned to set the actautor to the maximum boost u need to run of the manual boost controller this way at any time u whack up the boost controller it wont do mental boost!
what was the maximum boost u did before?
what u should do is get your maximum setting by turning up the boost controller to maximum adjust your actuator to get the desired boost level then when u connect up your manual boost controller it will not boost more than your maximum
to wind down the actuator remove the rod from the wategate arm and basically make the rod longer this will give u less boost! then pop the arm back on and try it
i take it uve got a boost guage?

Ok it was boosting bout 10psi at a guess before(yes I do have a boost dial) so basically turn the boost controller right in clockwise I think the crappy instructions say... take off the actuator rod( how?) and wind it in/(how much) when I get it to about 1 bar then re plum in the boost controller and slowly unwind it to reduce boost? All sounds very simple but how much should I wind the rod in? How do I get it off? Sorry want to make sure.....

The boost controller (or bleed valve) can only increase the boost from what it is on the actuator. i.e. if u take a pipe from the actuator direct to turbo, this is the lowest boost you can run, without adjusting the actuator.
Making the actuator rod longer will reduce the boost, but there is a limit to this too. The longest u can have it is "half a hole preload". This means that with the actuator rod off, it needs stretching a minimum of half the length of the hole in the end of the rod. Otherwise, you will have no boost.
In order to get the rod off the wastegate, u should use a pump or airline of some sort. Take the pipe off the turbo, and connect to the air line. As you pressurise it, the tension will ease and it should drop off easily.

that depends on the preload matey...
y u using a bleed valve and an amal valve???
u shud just get the amal valve to adjust the boost by usin different jet sizes in the amal valve...
no need for shitty bleed valve at all
