RS TURBO OPINIONS NEEDED
Hi i recently purchased an rs turbo, always wanted one and now got one.
Red 230 BHP @ 17.5 PSI
Chipped
Mongoose
fast road cam 34
stage 2 turbo
pro rad
pace intercooler
Baily dump valve and other mods.
The car has been proven at jampsort @ 214 and spoke to jamie, he said he knew the car and also confirmed it constantly produced great BHP figures on the rollers.
After than it went to frankiestien motorsport for a stage 2 turbo and fast road cam, on the phone they constantly suggest the cars BHP is 180-190, and say they would never set a car like this to 17.5 PSI. Although it does say peaking @17 PSI on the reciept.
The car would be hard to handle in the wet even with the throttle down only 1/4 in boost, the car would also not accelerate in a straight line and in the wet or dry. I normally kept the car too 3-4,000 RPM and wouldnt cain it round bends as when the boost kicks its just and animal. I cant confirm wether it has low comp pistons.
Recently i turned down the bleed valve now hitting 12 PSI and far more drivable for me. Although now im revving up alot higher, the cars still quick but not what it was. How much BHP do you think 5 PSI would make, and am i better off running low boost and thrashing a bit more or hight boost and thrashing less.
Thanks

Why would you wanna do any more mods if you are turning the boost down? or am I missing the point? from the impression I got, you was finding your current power a handful, so why would you want more?

Things that spring to mind:
1) Covert to efi
2) Use larger injectors
3) Upgrade management
4) Forged pistons
5) GRS Intercooler (If your pace one is the tiny one)
6) T34 Turbo

cheers mate suspension was high on my list, as i think its got standard shocks on uprated springs, maybe 100,000 + miles old.
Get it all done one by one.

1)roof

3)forged pistons
3.5) Stage 2 head
4)rear brake conversion
with some other jobs inbetween, and take it from there. Underbonnet bling just aint my thing.

yeah mate your right, after s2 head and forged pistons. Ill stop on the engine i think mods wise. That will be enough for me. Just get it setup real nice on the rollers and she will be a beast.
Thanks for the suggestions and good night. Will post some images soon, just been rainy every day.

1st get a power target...
I've seen forged pistons and a T34 mentioned thats going past 300hp potentially, and huge bills.
Deffo get the bushes, tyres & suspension sorted and go from there. Headwork, management upgrade, front mount IC and a hybrid T3 after that
'Hi, is that the bank manager'

2. gearbox...
3. brakes...
powere is nothing without control and you seem to have no control there ...
spax adjustable struts with leda springs .. poly bushes throughout the entire car..
go and see bernie (gearbox man) sounds like your lsd is dead...
bigger and better front brakes then add the rear discs ...dont forget to adjust the rear load proportioning valves ..as im sure you wont like the back end locking up all the time..
then get a bigger intercooler and alloy rad ....
bigger turbo ....
there is a modification you can do to the ecu .. put a switch in to tell it to run lower boost (approx half) .. use low boost for the wet
