Default erst paddle clutch help ????

me not being the most mechanically literate guy on here im in need of a little advice (again)
only had the erst a few months now and over the last week or two the gear selection seems to be getting more and more difficult, initially its fine on cold start up but once warm it becomes increasingly difficult for a smooth gear selection.
i have reciepts from the last owner that a ap 4 paddle clutch and re con strengthened gearbox were fitted approx 15,000 miles ago which i have no reason to doubt which makes me think that it may be a simple cable adjustment which may be needed???? (i hope!)
on the other hand the car pretty much gets a handful everytime its out so im maybe wondering if it maybe time for another clutch or g/box,just wanting some opinions here before i make Another!! service appointment.
thanks for any advice,

3 possibilites if you are having trouble selecting gears,it WON'T be the clutch worn out, quite the opposite, the clutch isn't disengaging properly.

In order of most likely:

Quadrant fucked
Cable stretching/preparing to snap
Diaphram springs on the pressure plate snapped/thrust bearing fucked (VERY unlikely if its a recent clutch)

Just to add aswell, if your sat in traffic with the car in gear in traffic, does it creep forward by itself.

And does it crunch REALLYYYYYY bad when going into reverse?

i had a new cable fitted only several weeks ago after the last one snapped, initially after the new cable was fitted everything seemed fine its only been over the last week or so that its become a bit of a nightmare....

the car does'nt creep forward when in gear and stationary but the bite point on the pedal is quite low,

your on the money there when selecting reverse mate as it seems to be crunching more or less everytime (once its warmed up)

do you think it might be the cable that has'nt been set up properly ????

cheers for the help

The creeping forward bit is in extreme cases usually.

The biting point being low down is another dead give away. You noticed any clicking noises from the pedal or the biting point constantly changing when you are driving?

The gearbox will crunch in reverse as they dont have a synchro mesh, its a direct meshing of the gears. Usually u need to hold the clutch in for a few seconds before selecting reverse to allow the gears to stop spinning, but if it still crunches then that shows the clutch is still turning the main shaft in the box.

I bet you.....a jam tart, its the quadrant gone, and to answer the question aswell, the cable isn't adjustable, thats the quadrants job. Everytime u push the clutch and then return it to rest the quadrant pulls the slack out of the cable to compensate for cable stretch and clutch wear.

So, you will be relieved to know the quadrant is very cheap to replace, while also being that its a slag to fit
