When ordering, what extras do I need?

Choice of:
8 x double valve springs
8 x hydraulic cam followers
1 x clamping tool for adjusting mechanical cam followers
8 x billet mechanical cam followers easy adjustment no shims
8 x chrome moly valve caps for double valve spings
vernier pulley

am i right in thinking you only need one of the choices 2 or 4 and need the rest?

Hold on, you referred to Solid lifters, then Hydraulics??

You want the CVH cam, a set of 8 Solid followers, double springs with their caps and the adjustment tool.

Are you fitting this? The adjustment really isn't very easy, it certainly wouldn't get a '1 spanner' rating in Haynes anyway.

BTW, Tony, you are wrong, as much as I hate to say it!! LOL. They do 2 ERST cams, one for CVH and one for ZVH and IMO the whole custom thing is a white elephant. They can do custom spec, but I think you will find that they rarely do.

Mine is though and so is Tony's!!

Yeah I gonna give it a go fitting it

I ordered it all yesterday but theres a 2 week wait as they ran out of solid followers

First time doing any real engine work, only done clutches etc

Looking forward to it! I think the timing is gonna be the worst bit!

Getting my rocker cover powder coated while its off, putting on new belt, oil seals and rotor arm and cap.

Any tips? Any thing else I should do while its apart?

Jamie hope my last "agressive 1" is being put to good use it was/is a "one off"

In answer to the original question .Yes you can raise your rev limit! however there will become a point before 7000rpm where other factors limit your (peak) power. In effect reving higher (which in time causes other related issues) for the sake of it!

I'm guessing ZVH has more duration? The head is identical, so maybe they are using the extra capacity as a lag reducer. I hate it when comapnies specify recommentations. Tell me the timing figures and i'll tell u if i want it lol.

As said above, when i ordered mine they didn't seem keen on a custom grind....sayin that the one they make was what they considered best! Also as c+b said, adjustin the lifters is a bloody time consumin affair, i can see why a garage would charge u alot of dollar to fit one!
