Default Torque settings

what are the torque settings for an erst head..? do you NEED to use a dial gauge or is a torque wrench ok..?

60 ftlbs (torque wrench), then a dab of tippex on each bolt cap and tighten a further 90 degrees and finally get the breaker bar out and another 90 degrees.
Make sure you're using a decent hex bit (snap on part No fam8e is
perfect)otherwise it's easy to damage/chew up the cap head.

Its recommended to work up to the torque in stages, doing it in one go won't make very even torques, the way i always do it (as per haynes) is

25, then 55, then 90 degrees then 90 degrees again. You dont need to use a dial gauge, if you use a torque wrench you can do it by eye easily.

ivorbiggun: they aren't cap head bolts.......13mm bolts....
