as far as i can gather, you want the larger one for a saloon.the other two are for a series 1 and the escort van/cabriolet,the s2 turbo im sure is the 47-49 litre one

They have different senders on them. I had this dilemma also, of course you don't want the 3i efi one with the pump in the tank, but then the other one I was looking at had the wrong sender on it...cleaned up and painted my original in the end.

Red mate thats a Series 1/RSi tank the sender won't work on his gauges

And Series 2's have the senders in the top. How much though i may buy it myself?

As for S2 tanks im sure the only variations is between the MFI and EFI changeover, the MFI (and carbs although the sender will be wrong but you can replace with yours) have the smaller hole, and EFI's have the bigger sender hole

I got mine from a bodyshop out of a panels catalogue. Cost me £50 including delivery. It was for a mk3 but they do panels for mk4 as well so can't see why they wouldn't do a tank.
