MPG after chip
What does the mpg go down to after an rst has been chipped and running about 170bhp. obviously the way its driven determinds it but say cruising at 75. would it be any different to cruising at 75 when not chipped?

won't have much effect if your just cruising at 75 cause your off boost anyway.
oh and i was properley caining it as well

yep i think 15psi would polish off a standard turbo, while your there you may as well upgrade it and make it future proof.
by the way make sure you know what your doing cause chipping an RST is just the start of it. next it will be an intercooler, then clutch, then gearbox, then suspension, then brakes etc! not cheap!

my car had a new turbo about 8k ago (standard spec) and its dealing with 15psi just fine. im gonna treat it to 18psi soon as well.
just for the record my car kept its original turbo up to 100k (just to prove myself wrong lol )

Only takes one bad owner to screw a turbo mate...........it could well be shagged and sounds like it is TBH...............all I was saying is if a turbo is looked after it will sail past 80k miles and handle more than 15psi.........mine's standard, done over 80k and I'm running 16psi, chargecooler etc. I don't want a hybrid, but if / when mine does give up the ghost I'll get a stage 1.

Mine gets about 230 - 250 miles to a tank, with instances of ass kicking here and there
but can easily get about 40 miles to Ł10, as i enjoy driving it more now with the current spec , so can be an unfair comparison

the turbo on my cossie sounds like a police siren 2 been like it 2 years running 18psi as a standard unit no problem..................... before i get any wise smart arses i know were not talkin about cossies here was just passing comment......... it could be summat as simple as a split hose or leakin gasket correct me if im wrong?????? look at obviouse things before condeming it i.e breather...... is it burning oil?????? does it boost up nice and hold it????? is the power nice smooth and constant????? just done the turbo on my s2 wen the old 1 let go lots of smoke appeared was burning a litre of oil per 50 miles would boost up and pull 4 a few seconds then go really flat bearings and seals gone and also turbine housing cracked on the inside near waste gate

Is unlikely to be a split hose or gasket, rst's don't like air leaks. Mine wouldn't run right when i blew the bottom out of the little gasket on the inlet oops
another passing comment here, my Turbo Technics stage 2 lasted over 80'000 miles, think i was told they do about 30-50k
It lost a fin on the exhaust side when i had it flat out coming back from germany, might have lasted longer if i'd have had a bit more respect for it
