Default brakes dont work

took my calipers off ages ago and let the system drip dry.
then built the car up again and i cant get the brakes to work!
fluid coming from all 4 corners but no pressure on the pedal, goes right to the floor.
i got disc's all round.
the fluid doesnt squirt out, it just drips out so i think the servo may have turned inside out??!!??
any tips or what??
shall i just get a new servo?? or can i fix my one??
whats to say the new one wont be the same as mine??

it took ages to get the fluid through, i suspected something wrong then coz they usually bleed through quicker than that, once the fluid came through it only started dripping, wouldnt squirt through, no air coming out anymore but still pedal hits the floor and no pressure behind the nipples

So did you do each one individually, have them all open at the same time, do the backs first, use the manual 2 man operation, have the car jacked up .....

at least give us some clues

but if i pump it right up and then open the nipple it only runs out, it doesnt squirt out like it should do.

sounds like the master cylinder seals have perished, the srvo costs 120 by the way,ive just got one,if it was that your car would air leak, when running, the fluid is getting through, then theres no blockage, the rear ones run through the load valves, theyll only stop working(ie.stop doing the pulse pressure thing they do under heavy load when emergency breaking) if there is debris jamming the arm actuators,(stopping them from closing,ie.like a small stone jammed in between),or if they are leaking(visable),and the rear calipers were leaking too ,so ,the fronts would also leak if it were them also,(calipers=visable),
which is why me thinks its the master cylinder seals on the push rod .(inside the master cylinder, the arm is pushed ,shoving pressurised fluid through the pipes,if its split ,the fluid bypasses the arm through the seal=no pressure.)

hope this helps, nuts Rus

well they are all the same, they just run out they dont squirt out when the pedal is pushed down and the nipple is undone.
the master cylender has only done 17'000 miles soit must be to do with how i drained out the fluid when i stripped the car

hmm ,did you pull the fluid through one of the rear bleed valves with a syringe type tool, while the others where shut? or just push through with opening and closing the valve?(this will take yonks to do!),

i done mine by this method, and it filled up quick enough. ,when its pouring out ,it seems like its not getting a chance to fill the pipes and air is bypassing as the fluid goes in.

try one rear side first,(do you have a bleed pipe helper-make sure its filled with fluid and submerged in some to stop it sucking in air too!)

Buy a pressure bleeder, Ł15ish worth every penny, and don't forget about the all to common rear disc conversion bleeding problem. When i did mine before i learnt of this, my pedal too hit the floor, with just a hint of braking when fully depressed.

I have solved the problem!!
The master cylinder i was using(off a escort popular 1.3) was to small to work the rs turbo calipers so i am now having to fit a rs turbo master cylinder and do a bit of brake pipe work

Not to sure if u mite have to do this too rs2000mk5

What size was the one u were using??? Size won't affect whether it works or not, it will however affect HOW WELL they work. Have you got rear disc conversions aswell?
