Default Ford series II fuel cap. where???

Hi folks,
I havent had my series II for very long, the std fuel cap was casuing me grief so i dismantled it with a bit of careful lubrication in mind. The spring shot out and scattered the bits into orbit

I have a shitty replacement but they dont look as good as the original ford design. Whats the crack with getting a replacement?? do you have to get one specially made to accept the original key???

I need to get one as this other cap is annoying me even tho it works faultlessly

Thanks in advance

i think you can get all the innards of the original cap from fords because it is all held on there by a spring loaded clip,i had to put a pattern one on mine and it doesnt seem to fit aswell as the original

My lock was tight but went to the ford dealer and had it replaced within 2 minutes. The salesman ripped out the old lock and put a new one in. Cost £22.71 plus vat. Part number is 1085866 hope this helps

Another thing is you will get new keys. Dont think you can get the lock made to use your ignition keys
