Why would you adjust the rebound yourself? Don't you think Bilstein have the slightest more knowledge than you when it comes to suspension tuning? Top adjustable rebound dampers are highly overrated. It's for people who want to fuck up the ride.

Proflex, Ohlins etc all have adjustable valving rallyesport. Mainly used for far more exotic requirements than an old Escort though.

Street dampers like Koni's, Spax etc have a degree of playability but not Bilstein. They come pre set Rick. This can be specified if requested, but usully not necessary. (And im talking non coilover too (for escorts))

Bilstein primarily makes road car dampers, unlike Řhlins.

We're talking about road cars here, and road cars are most often operated by people who doesn't have the slightest clue about suspension tuning.

And you are saying Rick hasn't a clue? He has given so much advise in this forum - most info many didn't know!

So you are saying we shouldn't take our cars on track because we don't have the slightest idea about anything??

Rick not sure if they do for the escort but they used to make them for the cossie's and they were very poor, it would be worth checking if they have improved the strength of the strut as they were very bendy

im looking at changing my suspension in the near future and dont know which ones to get

The reason i ask is that i have seen some advertised which are top adjustable.

I recently drove a car on koni's and cobra springs. I set them to full soft, and the car rode quite nicely, aborbing pot holes well. On full hard, ride was more bouncy, but did feel a little more responsive. these are two extreme's i realise, but was just to give me an idea.

Tony - people generally associate better handling with stiffer suspension. Id this increased spring rate, or damping, or both?

Tony, what would your preference be on a road car? What is on your car?

Don't know yet, only been at 15psi, but it's been so cold I have been struggling to get water and oil temps to operating temperature since fitting it

Too much anti-freeze i think, adjusted the mix today so we'll see what happens when it's set-up

Got to take the turbo off as i'm getting exhaust leakage from the turbo and the exhaust housing
