Default Heater Matrix

Has anyone got any advice on how to tackle changing the heater matrix. I snapped off one of the pipes through the bulk head when taking the engine out Ive heard different ideas on how to go, some have said drop the entire dash forward and ive also heard remove the centre consloe and pedal box and it should slide out. Any help?

mate, that is a complete shit to change!!
i snapped one of my nozzles off trying to pull the pipe off!
i tried loads of things but in the end i had to take it to ford to be done.
it cost me £220 labour!
they had to take the whole dash out to do it.
good luck mate.

Nightmare job. Took dash out and found all sorts of odd things. More wires than a switchboard. Not a quick job but at least now I'm warm when stuck in traffic.

@damo V:

can you tell me exactly which parts i further have to remove to change the matrix on my lhd?
the 4 airhoses are off the box and also the screw on both sides.
i can move the box, but not enough to get the matrix-pipes thru the firewall?!

thanks,
phil

done this very job last month, heater matrix had split. it is shit of a job the thought of taking the dash off but wasnt too bad in the end? i think u can take the heater matrix out with out removing the dash... but it would be a fiddle,. easier o take dash out so u can see everything.
