DIFF SOUND ??
Just noticed a noise like a humming coming from the rear axle when i turned my radio off. It gets higher in sound the faster you go its not loud at all but something i have never noticed before.
If you dip the clutch when moving its still there and if you accelerate and back off the note doesn't change, its seems that its in relation to road speed.
Is it the diff, or is it a normal 4x4 sound ??

Just took it for a spin and also noticed on hard right turns the left rear wheel sounds a bit noisy, I suppose that points to the CV or wheel bearing ??
How can you tell if its the inner or outer CV or wheel bearing ?
Cheers

Was it definetly the rear wheel, front wheel bearings noises are applified on turning depending on which wheel has the worn bearing.
You could take the bearing out smear it with some high temp grease, replace it and run...if it shuts up temporary then comes back after 15 mins...then its a safe bet you found the culprit...
Best of luck

Universal Joint, this bit that allows slight missalignment to be taken up without damage....

there are 2 at the fonrt and the most suseible one is the one at the fornt as it is right near teh down pipe and gets F hot, they come sealded lubed for life, but the heat baks then dry and they fook up, a good mod is to have a grease nipple fitted so that u can re grease it each time u drop teh oil
