Fuse blowing
My cossie has developed another rather annoying problem.
Everytime, the 10A fuse for my normal lights on my drivers side keep blowing.
Does anybody have ANY idea on how this is possible????
What do I need to look for?

Fuse blowing
Hi Geert
you must have a short or a very low resistance from the drivers side light to Gnd. It could be the Blue/White wire giong to the main beam indicator lamp behind the instrument panel (touching ground, does the lamp work normally?), or the White wire to the Lamp connection.
1. Remove both headlamp mainbeam fuses.
2. Remove both headlamp connections, check with a meter the resistance from the White wire to Gnd, it should be high resistance,(open.circuit). Compare the result from Left and Right sides.
3. Check the resistance from 12V in to Gnd in each headlamp unit, the reading should not be zero. (or simply unplug the lamp unit, install a fuse and switch on headlights, does the fuse blow?
Yes = wiring problem.
No = Lamp problem.
Hopefully you didn't fit 130Watt mainbeam rally bulbs?
Mfg
Kenny.

Kenny,
Your still alive my friend.
And now in plain English please???? Don't understand a thing you just said.
Nopez, didn't fit 130watt mainbeam rally bulbs.
At first, the drivers side bulb was out. So I thought that the light itself had blown. After many tryout, I finally was able to change the lights and they worked perfectly. However, the fuse of the drivers side bulb blew again and again I had no lights. It always works for a couple of minutes and then --> WHAM, no more mainbeam light on that side.

A little late but found the problem.
It was the height regulating thingie on the drivers side that was the problem. The wire going into that were rubbing against the power steering reservoir and had come loose causing a short and blowing the fuse.
Problem solved now.
