SENSOR COLOURS
Managed to put the water temp sensor on, and there is also a smaller sensor next to it which must relate to the Temp gauge, as now when this temp gauge sensor is connected the temp gauge goes straight up into the red with the ignition on... Any ideas ??

I was thinking to myself I bet this is easier from bottom up, oh well, alot of cursing and some very scratched hands and its finally done.
Seems to idle a bit better now, just need to figure out why its running 9.5%CO at idle, maybe that sensor has done the trick ??

Its running an Ahmed bajoo stage 3 chip, it runs high CO when its hot, assume when its cold too. its an odd ball cos it just stated to do it one day. Took it to a few places and they didn;t have any ideas as everything checked out ok.
One suggestion was a faulty lamba (although this checked out ok) , which i need to get........

i was suffering from exactly the same problem on my AB setup, turned out to be the map sensor (EVEN though the mapsensor was workin correctly and reading the same voltage on a pectel monitor as the new one that we fitted, old one at idle read 0.4vdc, new one read the same yet the rich running was sorted straigh away, one of those that you wouldn't believe unless u saw it with your own eyes, maybe worth trying a differtn 3 bar just to see, i think it may have something to do with the age of them, they might 'work harden' for want of a better term and go lazy.
...if the Ahmed software uses the lamda....then that could be the cause although if you have Version 7 of the pectel software it wont let you rev past 4k
...To check if the lamda is working go to Pin 2 on the ECU...(first unplug the hair brush connector from ECU and take the cover off held on by a small screw on the end)..get a mutimeter and set to volts and with engine running put the red probe on pin 2 and black to earth...it should fluctuate the volts...if it remains constant then you could have a fooked lamda.

i didnt think the pectel software used the lambda anyway...?
anyhow, if it does, across pins 1 and 2 on teh ecu, set to volts DC, you should see 0.2 to 0.8 volts hunting up and down, the higher the voltage the richer teh mixture its seeing, mine was saturated at 1.2 volts when the map sensor was making it run rich

Mine appears to run with a lamba as it runs like crap if you dissconnect it !!
I realised i had the probelm when I initially went for an MOT it was running 0.37% at idle. take it back a few days later and it now runs 9.5% (noting electrical touched !) . The rolling road operator says that when it starts too boost (3000rpm) the lamba sensor switches over and fueling is fine on boost, just off boost it seems far to rich !!.
Here was what Stu from MD said ...
''lambda sensors can be faulty and still work, its the swicthing time thats affected, but in many cases, the internal heater fails and then the sensor is innacurate until the exhaust gas gets hot... IE, higher RPM.
The sensor needs a nominal tip temperature of 750degrees C, its crucial it stays up there or it will foul amongst other things, thats why they have a heater ''
The software number on the pectel board is issue no 1 (18/05/99) ....
Any suggestions what i should try first ?? i suppose i should buy a volt meter first !
Map , Lamba ??
