Default My cossie all fixed!!!...

ok after spending a bit of time with the car today i am proud to say that the escort IS chipped!!!!! ok thats that 1 so dont need to buy one....

the next thing is that the amal valve has been totally disreguarded!!!!!

which is very bad in my thoughts and the actuator pipe goes straight on the turbo hence no restriction or boost control.... after bumping into a fellow ecossie owner i found that the pipe frm the act needs to go to the turbo and to the amal valve and also a pipe frm the amal valve to the air box, which in my case is the K+N (fitted somehow??)

that been said i have my new fuel pump arriving tomorrow so will have that to fit and gonna order a new fuel reg on monday so i know thats sorted too!!! also going to plumb the amal back in for now then will fit a apex avc-r to solve the boost when i have the ecu diagrams.

hopefully if the amal don't solve the problem it then could be plugs and leads as i have a feeling the incorrect plugs may be fitted......

apart form that its all good its gone in for some work this week

cheers Ad

adamski frst, when you have chipped your car you need the gaps made smaller on the spark plugs not quite sure why but its something along the lines of the extra boost blowing the spark off track so you would get a miss now and then there is a big article on it in performance ford this month as they were doing a test on a new management system and they said that is how it would benifit cosworths running high boost.

and also..........

yes thats right folks its fixed!!!!!!!!!!

and i have to say it goes like fcuk.......

after speaking to numerous tuners and so on and checking things, it came down to the smallest thing......

plug gaps....

yes thats right so basically i got new plugs on and shrunk the gap 15 tho and then took it up the road and it went like a train!!!!

no hickups or anything no pinking just pure power!!!!

got to test the brakes too now the cars running well and they are real good not AP's but uprated ones and they stop really well...

got a few more things done to it today and its in for work to be done this week now so i'll leave you with that thought....

so a big thanks to all for there help and various tuners for putting up with me moaning i'm now a very happy,

Adamski

Remember that for the small turbo Esc Cos, you can ONLY use the plug that was originally from the small turbo one. NO other plugs will do.
Can't remember the name at the moment.
