Default Distributerless loom problems

Ive wired up the loom with the following instructions

Wire to pin 24 & 25

Then the confusing part..

Instructions to wire to the coil are sketchy and ive been told to use the "positive and negative part of the coil" but another set of instructions for a similar loom say "the 12v constant and the switched live" so contadict what the 2 wires to the coil actually are

After wiring up by instructions that the black / yelow was the switched live the black / yellow wire smouldered asif was been shorted.

What actually are the 2 wires on the coil and any ideas what can cause the wire to smoulder like this?
If anyone knows the voltage they should both have so i can make 100% there is no dammage to anything else too?

A wasted spark loom? Seems very odd instructions you have. If its Weber,

Triggers from the ECU to the ign amps are pin 25(std one) and pin 26

Coil pack has 3 wires, 2 outers are triggers from the two ign amps, the centre is an ign fed live, same as the ign amps.

pin 24 is the ign amp clean ground.

Tacho output if it has a driver in the ECU is usually pin 21
