Default Is this a bargain?

Going to look at an Escort Cossie on tuesday, it's an N reg small turbo lux, completely standard and well cared for with 85,000 miles.

He's offered it to me for £10,000.

I think that's a bargain ,but is there anything I should be lookin out for that would be different to my Saff when inspecting it? Common rust spots etc, etc.

Cheers

Common rust spots seem to be the inside lip on the front arches as this area is prone to stone chips.Rears are lipped so not a problem.Esc cossies really don't tend to rust, if you do see a rusty one then accident damage/repair may be the reason.
If you've had a saff you probably know your way around mechanically.10K is not a bad price as they start at this and rise!!

Went to have a look yesterday, what a fookin' dog!!!

Clutch is fucked to a stump, front bumper was hanging off, arches had been hacked about to get 18's on and had all started rusting out, tailgate was rusted out along the lower boot spoiler, had a fookin' great hole hacked in the whale tail with a high level brake light siliconed in, sills were rotted out, tappets sounded like they were gonna jump out the rocker cover, drivers seat was knackered and the rest of the interior was really tatty, disks were warped, turbo wasn't holding boost and the parcel shelf was missing.

Best give it a miss I think

The good point is that the next one you will find may be a T35...
Unless you want to keep it standard you better not buy a T25.

10k is stoopid cheap, dont know what they are going for with the focus rs now settled, but im still reckoning 14k for a good one.
