here's a picture of our old escort cosworth ...
![](http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/xtatiana01x/3049276317a4525330455b88617429l.jpg)
now no matter how much i missed the hell out of it i would not go & spend the money nor time & effort on building a rep. theres people on here saying you should be happy that people are trying to copy escos owners cars but should you really?
i was 20 years old driving A REAL escort cosworth & people thought it was 1. a rep or 2. daddy's car because there is that many people building reps, that when you get people that dont know very much about them, just see the badge & the kit & they think its the real deal

I also find it strange that when someone gets talking to me about the car when in the petrol station or outside when cleaning it etc, they always seem to have a brother/uncle/dad/cousin/mate who has or has had a cosworth before, and it always seems to be saffs that they have/had, and never escorts.
Very strange.
Any other escos owners get this???

well just taught i would come in on this.cossie reps for me are just a hobby as such.built 2 and starting my third. yes could buy a real one but everyone is different nothing to do with turbo cars as i have 2 sti's.insurance is a killer on rep if insuring the modification done well in ireland anyway was paying €4100 a year on my 1.6 rep and then the same on the rs2k once the kit was on them the insurance company here put in the class group 23r the same as a escort cossie said once it look like one it was most likely to be stolen. and yes if a rep is done to a high standard then the cost can go above the buying price of a real one.example my 96 rsk car cost €6000 and then body parts wheels suspension etc went over the €7000 so thats €13000 or just over £11600 so far.have all receipt to prove this thats not including fitting spraying and paint as this was done by me so dunno what price labour would be to get all this done as it was built from a bare shell up

reason to not buying a real one well for this topic anyway.i have three cars already that sit in a shed hardly see the road last car i had out was at the mcrae gathering aug 08.so the cossie would never really see the road as the roads here are bad the white rep covered a total of 3000 miles and had three set off avo coilovers in that time back shocks keep blowing the seals so that will say how bad the roads are.as i said in my first post these are a hobby to me and for the reason that i can bring them out on the road nothing else and i do realise that they go above the price of a real one.even though there are rep i have had people come and say is she the real deal and always say no she a rep that i built i do no people that will bluff and say ya she real can't understand this as no matter how good the rep it will always have a give away biggest one the engine and so for all real cossie onwers i understand what your saying when you have the real deal alot people will say it a rep when they no nothing about them. in the same position with a car i have thats the real deal.

are irish insurance companys run by retards or are most irish drivers retards crashing all the time to fuck up the insurance system??? ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)

Even if you have crap roads and only did 3000 miles it would still be better to have 3000 fun miles rather than 3000 miles of FWD gayness
driving a never good enough wannabe car. If avos keep popping then fit standard suspension and dont run it so low!

irish roads aren't that bad, i never blow shocks and have run many cars low.
i don't mind reps, but for me it has to be the real deal. can't afford one at the mo so rs turbo for now!
