As i said above Jase my car was away for over a year for a engine build(dot ask) and i was starting to feel the same even started to make up a parts list, now its back running it makes it a bit more worth while. Saying that im just off the phone from hearing about another problem, but that should be a easy fix and the resuts so far sound good

Yip but 3 months ago my car never had an engine in it either, since then its had new box, diffs, underside painted and new gauges fitted. It does all take time mate but it can be done, is there parts you can get done justnow or are you stopped waiting on other people thats the worst bit.

hit the nail on the head mike. must admit im not happy with mine at the mo but ive not had a chance to sort it out.needs the performance sorting and the rear beam and tracking as its all over the place just for a minute this morn i tought i shouldve bought an evo.then i saw sense again.i just need to sort the escort and i'll be happy

God knows how I missed you input Mike!

Its not the love of the car thats the problem Mike, YOU Know the problem! The love for the shed is still there, but as I said before how can you win a arguement, when you know EVERYONE your having it with is right! (and I'm like an old horse.........Stubborn!).

Big whoop, you've managed to rebuild yours in 1-2 months, what do you want a medal? I'm not the one who's resealed the entire underside! Its people's comments like this which really piss me off, my life believe it or not does not revolve around escort cosworths, I have work/personal commitments, I also have a future wife to think about (say future as I'm getting married next year and that's costing more that my car will ever be worth!) so things have to be thought about seriously when you get dicked around.

The ONLY reason its not being sold off now is because for me to receive the full worth financially it would probably take a year with all the bitty parts IE my question about the shell. I love my escort dearly, its one of 2 cars I've only ever wanted, but I love a lot of other things more!

My problems have sweet fa to do with setting goals too high, I have already hinted as to why I'm sick of it all (people who I respect & trust know the reasons why and thankfully they actually agree with me!). How the hell car you say I'm a bufty when it looks like this:

My cars sitting like that because I get dicked around so much, not because I cant be arsed.

I couldn't give a shite what people think of me in all honesty Ade, especially on the web! I aint looking for sympathy, any hand outs of the like, I merely asked what the shell was worth, suddenly I'm a bufty!

Oh and trust me, the escort was used EVERY weekend come rain, snow(which was the bollocks I'd like to add!! ) and shine! And will be If I dont break.

My biggest battle is justifying its existence when its been sitting static for 5-6 Months through no fault of my own, You can't win a row when you know she's actually right!

jase your mis reading my personality i meant bufty as in stop being a div/nob/prick but didn't write that as didn't wanna be rude!!... admitadly i have done the underside on mine but it did need it and i was offered it cheap! originally if i'm not mistaken you planned to tidy it up and get it back now its redo this and that and big power and respray.... alot of people atm seem to think it all has to be done in 1! I for one don't wanna see you throw this away and reguardless of what you think i known you a long time and respect ya... i'd rather you turn up in it looking smart with 300hp than all guns blazing... mine could be on the road 3 days then the gearbox go or whatever but i cannot or will not upgrade stuff just for the sake of it as i just cant afford it....

SO just fix it up and start enjoying it!!! and take the MRS out in it!!!

So, you can fit the loom next weekend (bankholiday w/end too, so you've got plenty of time...)- that'll be a piece of piss with no engine in the bay, as it was simple enough with just the inlet removed....
Then its just engine back... Sorted.. - chop chop!

I'm not sure what I need TBH I think its all there bar new fuel lines, but as I need to fit the swirl pot etc to measure everything it cant be done until the engines back and the new fueling loom is made.
Have made the person aware that you have these thoughts Jason and hope that what we are waiting for comes very soon ...

I would like to point out this has NOTHING to do with Martin Hadland/Reyland............ Just to nip that in the bud before people start putting 2+2 together and getting 10!

As I say Martin has every right to charge me storage on the bottom end & gearbox that has been sat in the workshop for 8 months!

(But then again If he does, I'll pro rata it against what I'm storing for him!)

Also while I am pretty pissed due to certain things, the absolute main point of this post was to weigh up personal options. If I knew I could sell EVERYTHING within a month or 2 and have nothing to remind me of it............. I'd start stripping this weekend.

But I forecast for me to receive maximum return would take near on a year in the current climate.
