hi what is the best battrey you have tryed on an escort cosworth , and what amps does it need to be please ?

Varta. I went for the biggest battery that would fit, 480 amp I think from memory.

ive only ever just used a high power battery that ford supply, never had any issues with them

HANCOOK BLACK batteries, late eighties near 90/92 amp as I remember... better than my previous BOSCH ones, and MUCH cheaper too. Ford +/-pole, But the batteri cover did fit because the batterie was a bit larger.

i use a transit battery on my saff (097 i think)

best one iv had, holds charge well and starts first time. oh, and it just fits into the tray and no more...

i think 60 amps is good for an escort cosworth. what do you think ?

from memory mine is a 71amp which is meant for a diesel transit.

097 is the biggest you can get for an Escort.

I have a Exide and a Silver Mura as a spare.

Gel(AGM) will cost you big time but is that much better, esp for stored and less used cars, but with AGM you don't need the max capacity as they are typically size for size around 40% - 50% better in ah and CCA.
