Default escos buying help pls . . . .and do you know this car ??

basically my mate has just rung and let me in to a secret ............ he is going to buy an escort cosworth

cant wait !!!! so he has asked me to help look for one and also to ask all your ford know it alls to give us a few tips of what he should be looking for .

he has £10-£12.5k to spend but if he finds one that he has to have then he will stretch to £14k but that is full wak .

ive looked on here in the for sale section and on pistonheads and on ebay . he found this one :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Escort-RS...QQcmdZViewItem

anyone know it ?? he says he can have it for £10k . he really wants a white one but will settle for a blue one . the lighter, brightewr blue . think its imperial blue . i will put a pic up in a min of the colour im thinking of

is there 2 diff blue colours ?? imperial and ???

what is the different between big and small turbo models ??

do they all have pop out rears ??

what else should we know and be looking for ??

and do any of you know of any for sale ...........

there actully 3 types of blue imperial blue, petrol blue and arias blue

the big turbo model had a t34 turbo webber marrelli p8 managment
the small turbo had a t28 turbo eeciv managment the p8 system in more tuneable if its a lux it wil have pop out windows electric window ,electric sunroof and aircon and leather if its a non lux then these wer the options..if it dosnt have a sunroof its a motorsport version
typical places to look for rust is the wheel arches and the tailgate were the catch is also ave a look at the sills hope this helps abit shame ya mate cant stretch a bit more he could ave bought mine

What do you think it will go for then mate? Or more to the point what do you think he'll want for it roughly based on what you sold it for?

Hi there, why what?,why it wasn't sold or why its an n reg on a 96 plate?

It wasn't sold because i didn't get offered what the car is worth.

I had a couple of offers to end the auction one was for £500 more than what it was idvertized for.I suspect it was some one messing around.

I had several phonecalls whilst it was on ebay but from bargain hunters and this car is well worth the money any day of the week.

It will not be relisted on ebay because of timewasters ,that's for sure after that.

And .

It's had a big turbo conversion running over 400bhp.This also involves several other modifications too. Which i am sure you know about.

As regards to what your saying about the saph hoses in the engine bay ...well you've lost me.

Does the listing actually say that? i'm not sure.

Can i ask you what you point is ?

Thanks Tim

Just curious... ST to BT conversion is fair enough, just didnt see it written when it was on ebay and just wondered really.
Same with the hose from headertank to turbo, its a sapphire one, but no big deal...
Good luck with the sale, looks like a decent car
