Which 18" wheels...
... do you prefer?
Went out for a drive today and God do I hate the standard setup
The car is all over the place and the handling is... well... WHAT handling???
So some powerflexes and another suspension will be on the shopping list asap
And since the "let's keep it standard"-plan will probably die peacefully anyway I was already looking out for a set of 18" wheels
5 options...
1) Standard wheels in 18"
2) OZ Superturismo (new style)
3) Rondell/Engels
4) Speedline Corse GT1
5) Tecnomagnesio Detroit F1
What do you guys think?

As I`m in the same dilemma (how standard do you keep the car?)
And just on a stage one I`m thinking - 18`s, GAZ coilovers and brakes.
On that note, theres only two choices from above :
RONDELLS or 18" ESCOS ALLOYS

LOL
Only one minor problem....
I'm probably the only person on this planet but... I don't like those wheels
Speedlines were on our old EsCos. I know there weren't many fans of those wheels but I think they looked really different.
18" original wheels would be my first choice but I HAVE to be sure big brakes would fit without the use of spacers.
And you can never go wrong with the Rondells imo... Although we'll probably get a full load of "Nice but to bad there the Engels wheels and not the original Rondells"-cr@p
Tecnomagnesio's are a no go
OZ's look good but they'll need a lot of cleaning so I think I'm going to forget about them aswell.
Woohoo already down to 3

as much as i think you would be better changing to something else.out of all of them the only one i like is the 18" original.i dont mind rondells but they are so common for an aftermarket rim. nothing else out there you fancy?

But no bigger than 18" and I don't want to use spacers

As far as i'm aware you'll need spacers for the original style wheels if you want to fit bigger brakes (bit of a design flaw there?)
Of the ones you've posted i'd go for the Rondells
or how about a set of MO's in white?

I think I'm going to sleep over it for another 24581 nights or so
One advantage off living in Belgium is you hardly ever see an EsCos "in the wild" so I don't really have to take the "everybody's got those"-argument into account.
Think the Rondells and the Supert's (after seeing Bullett's picture ) are at the top of the list for both of us atm.
Well actually the original wheels in 18" are but that would probably mean we never can fit bigger brakes
We'll see
So.... which 19" wheels for the FRS?

It's only the original orignal wheels that limit you to 310mm discs and stabdard callipers. The 18" "original" wheels with their ET15 offset, should be able to accomodate bigger brakes, I just don't know HOW big, but if you check the ones at the shows, some have bigger brakes on .

I remember you saying the car was all over the place last year at the Ring when you still had your standard suspension.
I took it to work on monday and even when I drive at normal speeds the car is going from left to right on our nice Belgian roads
And if you would change the suspension and lower the car a bit you need 18" as I don't like the look of a lowered car on standard 16"...
Springs will be here next month: we'll see how that looks
